A Tall View

Unexpected Views

In some way (financial or other) those receiving this update have supported us during this journey. For this reason we want to provide a 50,000 foot reminder.

This January will be the three year anniversary of our move. Back in 2016 there was no existing core group. All we had was three connections and Google maps. Everyone always says that Church planting is hard, but shortly after relocation this plant became far more "scratch" than we anticipated. This brought many long and challenging nights.

Of course, what we see in hindsight, God knew from the beginning. But it is always a surprise to us. Which is why last spring we asked our supporters to consider extending support from 3 to 4 years. I am happy to report that this adjustment appears to be putting us back on track.

Additionally, these challenges are God's glory. His Church exist by His grace and pleasure. There is no other reason!

If you live in Alabama, Missouri, Texas etc. We hope this "from nothing" story will remind you of his power. If God can gather a Church, then He can hold you. While that might be scary, we know Jesus purchased everything. "Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the Church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever." Ephesians 3:20-21

A view of the field

From the outside people might not realize what is happening. But our region has become a global melting pot and home to financial and technology industry leaders. This rise of global influence sparked the most expensive congressional race in U.S. history.

This graph (from the New York Times) illustrates peak dollars invested in national congressional races. The last line on the right represents our district's recent election. This drastic shift reveals an emerging culture that many (nationwide) feel is "up for grabs".

The factors raising political attention can also represent the changing worldview of a rapidly growing area. AKA. We need more Churches.

From here to there

It has now been 9 months since we launched public worship and our sights are now set on particularization. For those unfamiliar with the term, it means "Self Governance". This does not mean financial independence, but it does include a path toward this goal. This is step 4 of a 5 step process. Our end goal will be a Church that plants other Churches. Soli Deo Gloria.

Forget finances. Forget strategies. Forget everything. Look at this photo. There is still another 20+ people serving in the background and several families traveling. God's Grace has gathered this community!

When you consider the challenges and what God has done. I am amazed. Supporters, your investment is changing lives.  Know that your support is meeting this new community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
