A New Kind of Update

Reminder: we are modifying our former method of updating. Most of you who read this have committed to support us with finances, prayers or both. Practically, we needed to streamline the process to provide current material. While this process is different, if we do not transition to weekly reports to much will be omitted. It will probably take a couple weeks for this process to work, so please be patient as we pursue an excellent solution for communicating the wonderful work God has been doing in Christ Fellowship.

OH yes: Here is a picture of audio equipment donated to us by a Church in SARASOTA FL. Complete with microphones, cables and more! All we have to do is figure out how to get it.

 

Here is the email I sent to our core group this evening:

Greetings Christ Fellowship and Friends
This Sunday we begin a new season in our Church. Personally I am experiencing joy. God has done (and is still doing) a tremendous work in our community. It thrills me to offer our fellowship to others.
 
Here is the plan for this Sunday.
 
Gather and connect as usual.
Sing
Study a portion of Hebrews (this week Grace never forgets 2:1  & 2:6-9)
I will share a challenge I faced over the summer and how God's Grace was a profound mercy during this time.
2 minute update on gifts received
Teaching/Break into committees for 25-30 minutes
  • No worries if you are not leading or on a committee. We have plenty of places that need assistance and contribution
  • If we have visitors I will share our Philosophy of Ministry
  • If we do not have visitors then Hospitality will use the main gathering room
Some committees will need to combine. Such as
    • Worship, Finance & Technology
    • Hospitality, Setup, Children & Assimilation
    • Prayer, Outreach, womens, mens
  • Our Community is Amazing! and God is increasing our numbers. But we are all still sharing many hats. So some folks will have to choose.
After our groups connect we will re-gather for updates & corporate prayer.

Because some people who missed the membership vows last week will not be with us again this week, we are considering postponing the vows until August 20th. I will explain the process to those who missed via phone or in person. If you missed (or are waiting) please let me know your availability on the 13th and 20th. Thank you. (There is no rush. It would be good to complete the process for everyone wanting to join by Sept 3rd.)

That is the end of the email. I know it is different. We will do our best to improve the process.

Please Pray

  • for 8 "outward facing" families to come alongside our amazing community. These could come from sister PCA Churches, or other gospel believing communities in the region.
  • For the healthy transition from "community formation" to "Neighborhood Communities". We believe neighborhood communities deepen existing relationships while opening the door for gospel proclamation.
  • For a smooth transition to our new location. We hope to have preview services beginning every other week starting Sept 10th.

Thank You Donors!  We are so grateful for your support! This work has been more scratch than we anticipated, So we are raising an additional 1yr of support (from 3 years to 4 years). Should you be able to commit to an additional year we would be grateful. We hope this new format for reporting will better equip you with our needs and progress. Christ is KING!
