A New Way Improving
As I mentioned last week, we are seeking to send weekly updates. Once we get the rhythm down, we will customize the newsletter for our supporters. But for now, We are sending a copy of the weekly Church update. There is a ton going on, this is a small step toward getting the word out. Below is yesterdays email.
Greetings Christ Fellowship and Friends
This past Summer was extremely challenging for me. Our transition toward preview services (prelaunch) included many obstacles, both seen and unseen. Yesterday, we saw one of those obstacles close.
As you know, we had submitted the paperwork for Roswell North Elementary based on a verbal approval. However, I had not heard back in over a month. I knew of several reasonable explanations for the delay. However, there was also several reasons for them to deny our request. I was getting concerned. Imagine landing a plane in Atlanta and not knowing if the airport is open until you are in Fulton County airspace.
Yesterday we received confirmation on the location and time. WOOHOO! Additionally, Roswell North has offered some storage space which will greatly reduce the burden of setup. They have also expanded the room request to include a space (should we choose to use it) that will be great for teaching.
Additionally, this week God opened the door for me to connect with Roswell High School's new principal. This was difficult, his assistant protects his calendar (especially because he is new) very closely. We were able to schedule another meeting on Sept 7th. I do not know how God will use this meeting. But it is exciting to see two answered prayers in one day.
Now that we have a clear path in front of us, all that remains is the logistics.
This Sunday:
- We will finalize the initial membership of our Mission Church. Immediately following our study of Hebrews 4:14-16 (Grace Gives Rest)
- Then break into the following groups (as last week).
- If we have visitors I will cover 1/3 of our Philosophy of ministry.
- Worship, Finance & Technology
- inventory chat
- logistics of Sunday (someone come to RNE next week)
- Hospitality, Setup, Children & Assimilation
- (Lin is away, Update from Stephanie on location & security)
- (assimilation using the Owen's process of gift assessment)
- Prayer, Outreach, Women's, Men's
- topics from last week
- tangible ways to give in the early days.
- Roswell High has 35 Homeless students
Final note/announcement for this Sunday
Imagine a flight crew that speaks perfect English at take off and perfect German upon landing in Berlin. Somewhere around the midway point a new language emerges. Some learn the verbs first while others learn the nouns. But in a short amount of time everything comes back in line. This is our process. We are transitioning from a ministry of MNA and learning the "new language" of Christ Fellowship. In order to navigate this process we are forming a rotating team of Advisors. We look forward to watching God teach us this "new language" through the rotating team. This group will be kept small because (in this season) issues rise quickly. The purpose of this Advisory team is to give steering advice as decisions need to be made in order to free up corporate worship time. Members of the team will serve for approximately 6 months at a time.
Reminder: Everyone still has a voice All members still have the freedom to share your ideas and opinions. However, some issues rise rapidly and I need a narrow few during this time of transition that can assist with challenges as they arise. Our inaugural team meeting will be Friday Sept 1st with the following:
- Lin and Cindy Acuff, (6month)
- Rich and Stephanie Grote, (3 or 4 month)
- Ben and Blair Smith. (6 month)
You are loved

That is the end of the email. I know it is different. Please be patient as we do our best to improve the process.

Please Pray
- for 7 "outward facing" families to come alongside our amazing community. These could come from sister PCA Churches, or other gospel believing communities in the region.
- For the healthy transition from "community formation" to "Neighborhood Communities". We believe neighborhood communities deepen existing relationships while opening the door for gospel proclamation.
- For a smooth transition to our new location. We hope to have preview services beginning every other week starting Sept 10th.
Thank You Donors! We are so grateful for your support! This work has been more scratch than we anticipated, So we are raising an additional 1yr of support (from 3 years to 4 years).
