More of the new

Our recent updates have been a "copy and paste" of our core group emails. We are hoping this regular drip of information is better than longer (less frequent) updates. Below are two emails from this week.

Email from Tuesday 8-27-17

Greetings Christ Fellowship
Last Sunday most of the ladies enjoyed a restful weekend at one of our gracious supporter's Mountain home . The rest of us gathered for one of our final meetings at the George Center. We discussed the importance of hospitality. We applied the language of Ephesians "strangers brought near". Apart from Jesus we are strangers to God. In Christ we are family. This posture of welcoming the stranger is a powerful demonstration of the gospel and an important component of our growing Church.

In preparation for this coming Sunday I am sending you a link for our new Kid check system. Please see Stephanie's instructions below:

Additionally, there is a group meeting at Roswell North Elementary this Thursday at 330 or 4. (We are waiting for confirmation from Hank on the time). You are welcome to join us.

Here are some quick facts about the region you might not know.
  • in 2016 heroin overdose in the Roswell Triangle increased 4000%
  • Alpharetta has over 11,000 subscriptions to "Ashley Madison (life is short have and affair)" that's roughly 8%
  • there is an estimated 685 people/day relocating into metro ATL over the next 10 years. A significant portion of them are moving into the Roswell Triangle.
  • Statistically, our region ranks highest amongst those either "hurt" by the Church or believe it is irrelevant.
We have this treasure in jars of clay, so that the life of Jesus may be manifested! paraphrased from 2 Corinthians 4:5-12

Here is the email from Today 9-2-17:

Greetings Christ Fellowship and friends
This Sunday should be our last Sunday at the George Center. As we prepare for preview services there are two items below you will want to be aware of.

First: We will discuss logistics:
  • Children's ministry will explain KidCheck. This is a wonderful tool.
  • Review/discuss the order of worship -
    • Discuss logistics: communion, greeters security,
  • Update on Out of Darkness - This is our outreach into Human trafficking
Second: Last night we had our first meeting of the rotating Board of Advisors. This is our next step toward the Church managing itself. We discussed two things.
  • What is going well
  • What needs to change.
    • On this point the group gave some valuable input concerning our communication. We discussed communication improvements and rising challenges. One action item is to transition our weekly email into a web based solution. We will explain this in greater detail tomorrow.

That is the end of the email. I know it is different. Please be patient as we do our best to improve the process.

Please Pray

  • Our First Preview service September 10th.
  • for 7 "outward facing" families to come alongside our amazing community. These could come from sister PCA Churches, or other gospel believing communities in the region.
  • For the healthy transition from "community formation" to "Neighborhood Communities". We believe neighborhood communities deepen existing relationships while opening the door for gospel proclamation.
  • For a smooth transition to our new location. We hope to have preview services beginning every other week starting Sept 10th.

Thank You Donors!  We are so grateful for your support! This work has been more scratch than we anticipated, So we are raising an additional 1yr of support (from 3 years to 4 years).
