Next Steps - Support

Ramping Up

Two weeks ago we sent our first update concerning NEW VERTICAL. Fund raising is now in full force. While there are several expected challenges in this process, one I did not anticipate is the needed stall on discipleship and outreach. The foundation for NEW VERTICAL is relationships developed over years of ministry. The anticipation of enriching and expanding those networks is exciting. However, this season of support raising has had the opposite effect. Instead of expanding, we've been forced to pull back. A little like "put your own oxygen mask on first".

Link fixed:

Thankfully, we have encountered very few technical problems. But an embarrassing one was the broken "learn more" button. This is fixed. Thank you for your patience.

Iterative Update

Our process is developing fast. The goal is to send shorter more frequent updates during this season so our network can stay actively informed.

Elevator Pitch

Multiple supporters have asked for a quick way to explain marketplace chaplaincy. This title is new for some, so below are some quick descriptions:
  • Think RUF (or Campus Outreach / CRU) to the business and community leaders. Even the strongest Churches will struggle to reach a college without a dedicated campus pastor. Likewise, most churches struggle to purposefully engage the business community. NEW VERTICAL can support the local Church and fill a huge unmet need by serving as a local missionary.
  • Picture the names on the banner in the outfield. NEW VERTICAL engages the leaders of those businesses. These are the operators who employ and care for so many in our community.

Finally.  THE FYI...

Some have asked for our EIN#. Apparently, Uncle Sam doesn't update the database frequently and our information has been hard to find. If you need this for charitable purposes just let me know. We are an official non-profit and all gifts are tax deductible, yet some organizations need this information on the front end.

Additional information:
  • We anticipate receiving official 501C3 status in a few months. Non-profits are not required to get this status. However, some corporations will match funding once this is achieved.
  • We should have some print and digital marketing pieces assembled within the week. If you would like these resources please let me know.
  • We are on LinkedIn
As mentioned above. It is exciting to see things coming together, But it is mildly frustrating because there is ministry not getting done. Building a support network is an important part of the process and by faith we will return to full engagement of the community as soon as possible.

Please Pray

Grateful

You are loved and we are grateful. His Grace is enough.
