The Speed of Planting

3 weeks of WOW!

I have no idea of how to consolidate the past three weeks. We have been taking first steps in worship, outreach and mission. The following is a brief overview, we hope time will fill in the gaps.

Two Fridays ago

Two Fridays ago we took first steps toward a missional face within the Atlanta region. It is no question that sexual brokenness is a major issue in the world today and its impact is far reaching. One major component is the issue of human trafficking. Personally I was very ignorant of how the economy of trafficking connects to our everyday life. As a small step forward we connected with a local ministry. In one evening we offered sanctuary and hope to a community trapped in prostitution and destruction. We are still learning more, but this blog is not the place for details. I can say that my friends from Montgomery and Birmingham will have wonderful opportunities to learn and join us in future endeavors (both here and within their region). One quick observation:
  • The "business" was everyway. Side streets, main streets, hotels, motels, Next to children playing , in the shadows, etc. Most shocking was the volume of people. (The Atlanta Metro area invest more money in human trafficking than Miami, Chicago, LA, New York etc.)

Last Friday:

In an effort to better understand how all our communities are connected, Heather and I attended a weekend training course across the street from our meeting location. During this time we heard testimonies and statistics. We learned that our community (great schools and all) is an active participant in the problem.

This past week:

Last Sunday we launched our women's discipleship platform. The goal is to mirror the small group concept the men are using.

Please pray for us as when continue to reach out into the community. This week I was granted three opportunities to share Christ. By faith 2 of these men will join us Sunday for worship.

This Sunday we are having a picnic. Heather has invited members of the Sikh Temple (across the street) to join us. Pray that some will join.

I wish I could expound on all the details and more. Wonderful things are happening. But we are also running at a very fast pace. Vacation is coming soon and we need it!

Please Pray

  • Our fourth Preview service October 22nd.
  • That our amazing community will maintain its DNA as we further open the doors.
  • 1 more year of support. We are growing, but the labors needed to begin were more scratch than anticipated.
  • For a deeper unity amongst the gospel centered Churches. We cannot do it alone.
Thank You Donors!  We are so grateful for your support! This work has been more scratch than we anticipated, So we are raising an additional 1yr of support (from 3 years to 4 years). Should you be able to commit to an additional year we would be grateful. We hope this new format for reporting will better equip you with our needs and progress. Christ is KING!
Any Gift is helpful. Tax deductible donations can be made through our online portal here.  100% of donations go to the work. Or you can email Brian here with questions.
