2 steps forward, 1 step sideways

We are making progress. As this adventure continues we are discovering that the progress we expect is not always the progress that Jesus plans. Perhaps you have heard me refer to Acts 16. In this story Paul and his friends felt called to proclaim the gospel in Mysia. After preparation and travel they were prevented from entering Mysia. We are not told the reason, but we are told that Jesus (not satan) stopped them. God called, then God redirected. Our story is similar. God called us to Mobile, now he is redirecting. The natural question is "Why"? I have discovered that all of life (joy and pain) submits to this same question. The answer is: In His divine providence it pleases Him to do so. And in a Gospel of Grace, His divine providence is for our deepest good.
