Water Vacancy?

This summer the Oaks are taking a sabbatical and seeking a place to dwell. Our prayer is that someone in our network has property near a large body of water for the month of June (or July). While you might not know the place, you might know someone who does. Please keep us in mind when you eavesdrop conversations at the local coffee shop. :)
If you do think of a spot for June or July please send an email to oaksbw@gmail.com.

Pastoral Addition

We are excited to share that Jeremy Prather has joined the Christ Fellowship ministry team. Jeremy came to faith while serving a sentence in Walker State Correctional Facility. During that time, he earned both his MDIV and DMin. His ministry with Christ Fellowship will be split with MNA and Metanoia ministries. You can read more about him and his ministry here

Family Update

Family life has been really sweet. Below is a short list of several highlights.
  • Heather is enjoying teaching middle school history and is preparing to take the Georgia state licensure exam. If she passes she will transition to 6th grade world history.
  • Chapel is set to appear on ABC next Tuesday night in a 3 episode series. Her film debuts are still in post-production.
  • Mason has embraced lacrosse and will be entering Highschool this fall.
  • Cannon is still loving all things soccer. His move to middle school means he will share the halls with Heather.
Thank you for praying for us and supporting us in this extraordinary adventure. There is NO WAY any of our endeavors could have born fruit without the work of the Holy Spirit through you.
Without your support none of our existing labors could have been accomplished. God has used your hands and feet. Thank you for your friendship and prayers across many seasons.

Joy in hardship

The difficulty of 11 location changes and the relocation of several key leaders has placed an unexpected burden on our congregation. However, at the same time our series in Philippians has taught us how to rejoice in all things. One of the greatest gifts I have received in the past season is a deeper knowledge of Philippians 4:12-13 "I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me."

Pray (Praise)

Please pray/praise for:
  • Pray - A place for the Oaks to go during this Sabbatical. Our big wish is a coastal retreat during June or July.
  • Praise - God has provided Jeremy Prather as a ministry partner. He is truly a gift.
  • Praise - We will receive two new families as members next week.
  • Pray - For the leadership of Christ Fellowship. That we might be unified in vision as we navigate the challenges of revitalization.
  • Pray for the Oaks - That we might savor Christ and each other in this ever shifting season of ministry.
