Slide Into Fall
The adventures of summer have kept the Oaks family on our toes. We have been running and resting at a rapid pace. In the midst of this we are seeking to maximize all the benefits of being scratch Church planters. This means trying new ideas. It is exciting, scary and it keeps us daily on our knees. In the end, everything is under God's benevolence.
In June we began a Summer series on the Church mission and values. I LOVED it! Through this time we worshipped and studied God's word with friends who are feeling more like family everyday. Additionally, the series proved helpful as we prepare our Fall Bible Study. Once school begins we will transition our Sunday morning series to a Sunday evening Bible Study (We are still seeking a location). We are super pumped about this opportunity to proclaim Christ and to take this next step in the planting process. So, in order to spread the word about the Bible Study we decided to do the classic summer event. We threw a Party!!!
What a Blast! At the height of the event we had 74 folks (about 35 of them were kids). Wonderful people from all walks of life and faith. What was the thing that brought everybody together on a hot July afternoon? A 50 foot Slip & Slide of course!
We are still in clean up mode and the yard looks like a stampede came through, but it was worth it! We will post more party pictures on our temporary website (Live Work Plant) soon. We make frequent updates and changes so check it often. "Live Work Plant" is not the name of the Church, but it solves a much needed means of communication. Plus, the site name reflects a great deal about how we believe God is working through us in the Renewal of All Things!

Praise (thanks be to GOD)
- In our last update I expressed the encouragement we have received from our non-PCA sister Churches. Lebanon Baptist, Roswell Assembly of God, Roswell Community, Fellowship Bible and the list goes on. The pastoral staff of these Churches continue to spur us on.
