On The Road Again
Planting a Church in Metro Atlanta means lots of time on interstate 20.
As most of you know, Heather and I are stationed in Birmingham while we finalize our support. Almost all Church Planters raise support and most of them have a season similar to ours. This process is hard, but the work is important!
Most of our support raising meetings involve a significant amount of education on Atlanta. Such as:
Most of our support raising meetings involve a significant amount of education on Atlanta. Such as:
- Atlanta is the 5th largest city in the US with 6.1 million people. (revised from 5.4)
- Almost 80% of the 6.1 million people have no Gospel connection. (let that sink in)
- It is a global city. Korean, Chinese, Hispanics, Japanese, Liberians, French Africans, Eritreans, Sudanese, Ethiopians, Burmese, Bhutanese, Burundians, Iraqis, Somalis, Turks, Afganis, etc.. (the world is here!)
- Reaching Roswell creates enormous potential to reach the region and all the cultures of this global city.
I returned to Atlanta on Monday to join a monthly support/training session for other pastors and planters. Here is a photo from our time of planning and prayer.

I will be back in Atlanta next Tuesday and Wednesday and hope to invest Thursday in Montgomery.
This will be par for the course until we reach 90% of our monthly budget. Then we can call Roswell home! Below are some updates and prayer request.
- Our interim preaching at 2Cities in Montgomery has come to an end. Serving this new Church was a tremendous blessing.
- Praise God! We are at 63% of our monthly needs.
- Peace as we live in transition
- The Lord's leading as we pursue individual and Church partners
- Our children as they experience the challenges of relocation
- The remaining 27% of monthly support required so we can begin this work!
